Google Assistant & Alexa – Nest Hello is compatible with both Google Assistant & Amazon Alexa both of which allow you to have hands-free control over your doorbell.
Unfortunately, Simplisafe lacks integration with voice assistants.
Motion Detection & Custom Motion Zones – Both SimpliSafe & Nest Hello also include motion detection technology.
However, there are a few differences in how they are carried out.
Nest Hello will notify you via the app whenever any motion is detected within its field of view, in addition to offering facial recognition software as well.
While Simplisafe is a little bit more standard in the sense it uses dual sensors that help it to differentiate between cars or people.
Lastly, Nest Hello allows you to set specific motion zones to target higher risk zones when you opt for Nest Aware, while unfortunately, SimpliSafe lacks this feature.
Subscription Plan – Both models also come with their own subscription plans to choose from.
With SimpliSafe, you can opt for 30-days worth of cloud storage which would amount to 4.99 USD monthly for one camera or 9.99 US/month for unlimited cameras.
While with Nest, you can go for the Nest Aware plan which comes in 3 tiers to choose from.

Additionally, with Nest Aware you also get facial recognition software as well as the continuous video recording feature (CVR) as well.
Field of View – SimpliSafe also features a more improved 162 degrees horizontal field of view, vs. Nest’s 160 degrees.
The difference is slight, but those extra two degrees can come in very handy when needing to identify a package thief.
Finish – In terms of measurements, SimpliSafe is slightly larger than Nest with it’s 4.3”x 1.5”x 1.2” dimensions, compared to Nest’s 1.7 x 4.6 x 1.0”.
Lastly, SimpliSafe comes in a single white color option, while Nest Hello allows you to choose between a Black or White model.
