iRobot Roomba i7 vs. 960 — What’s Different?

iRobot Roomba 960

Imprint™ Smart Mapping – Since Roomba i7 uses the Imprint Smart Mapping system, it can easily learn and adapt to your home’s layout, and know what objects and furniture to avoid.

While Roomba 960 lacks this feature.

3-Stage Cleaning System – While both smart vacuums come with a 3-stage cleaning plan, Roomba i7 pulls out ahead with its impressive 10x suction power, compared to 960s, 5x.

This greater suction allows the i7 model to tackle the deeper embedded dirt from carpets and rugs.

Compatible with an Automatic Bin Dispenser – If you decide to go the extra mile and purchase an Automatic Bin Dispenser for your Roomba i7, you won’t have to worry about your Roomba getting overfilled, with no one to empty it out, since it can do that all on its own now!

Whereas the Roomba 960 doesn’t offer compatibility with an automatic bin dispenser.

Zone Control – You can also set your Roomba i7 to clean specific spots in your home, i.e accidental spills with the zone control technology, which, unfortunately, Roomba 960 lacks.

Carpet Boost Mode – Lastly, for those of you who have many carpets at home, you’ll be glad to know that Roomba i7 includes a carpet boost mode which allows it to get even deeper into the dirt.

Whereas Roomba 960 doesn’t come with this feature.
