Accuracy – Since Ara 2 is an updated model with improved technology, you can expect more accurate BMI, body fat percentage and lean mass readings, than with the previous model.

Increased Weight Limit & Operating Humidity – Aria 2 also has an increased weight capacity of up to 400 pounds, vs. Aria’s 350 pounds.

Additionally, the previous model can also withstand a higher level of humidity ( 95% relative humidity) compared to the newer Aria’s 2 93%.

Network – The original Fitbit Aria supports a standard wireless 802.11b compatibility and does not include Bluetooth.

While the more advanced Fitbit Aria 2 is compatible with an 802.11b/g/n, 2.4 GHz connection as well as Bluetooth, making it more reliable with it comes to connectivity.

Personalized Icons & Greetings – While not a huge difference, Aria 2 also comes with the personalized icons & greetings function for a more user-friendly experience.

While unfortunately, the older model lacks this feature.

Setup – Both Fitbit Aria & Aria 2 differ slightly when it comes to the setup process.

In the sense that Aria 2 is more straightforward and quicker as it can be done from your smart device via Bluetooth.

While Aria requires a WiFi connection, and can only be done through your computer.

Power – Additionally, Aria 2 is also more efficient when it comes to its power usage. Since it uses 3 AA batteries compared to its predecessor’s 4.

Additionally, the newer model will also display the BMI readings directly on the scale, while Fitbit Aria will only do so via the app.
